- Description
- It's a short stroll from Parnell Place in East Newcastle, with its prosaic monument to King Coal, along Scott Street, past the 1930s Art Deco Great Northern Hotel opposite the 1877 Customs House and Newcastle Railway station, to reach Number 129 - a narrow, but impressive Baroque building of red-brick seemingly squashed between two other brick buildings- Longworth House. Now a heritage listed building, it has been renovated and has operated since September 2009 as a special function centre.
