- Description
- Mental health involves an individual’s capacity to benefit from satisfying interpersonal relationships and educational opportunities, and is also fundamental to wellbeing, quality of life and overall productivity. However, despite the increased efforts of government and nongovernment bodies in endeavouring to overcome issues of mental-ill health, it remains a foremost public health concern. This paper conceptualises mental-health services as offering enduring transformational consumption qualities and presents a theoretical framework for investigating the factors that influence consumers’ adoption of mental-health services classified in this fashion. Propositions to guide future research and implications for theory and practice are also presented to facilitate the adoption of mental health services.
