- Description
- A five-year (1970-74) retrospective study has been carried out in the Department of Pathology to determine the histological and epidemiological pattern of Hodgkin's disease in Zambia. Hodgkin's disease constituted 18.6% (38 cases) of lymphomas, 44% of the cases being seen in the first two decades of life. The male:female ratio was 2.8:1. Most of the cases were either in Stage II or Stage III. Mixed cellularity and lymphocytic depletion represented the commonest histological types. Aetiological and epidemiological factors are discussed.
