- Description
- Effective communication with stakeholders enables a project management office (PMO) to gain the necessary support for executing its functions. However, there is a gap in the literature regarding the study on this subject. In this regard, the aim of the current research is to identify the generic stakeholders of a project management office and the potential communication with them based on relevant studies extracted from a systematic literature review. The results indicate that stakeholders of a PMO can be categorized into nine categories. Among them, the stakeholders such as senior management, who have the most decision-making power, functional managers, who have control over resources, and customers, whose expectations directly affect the overall project management environment, can be considered as key groups with high impact on PMO activities. This research provides an insight into the communication needs of different stakeholders through the lens of a PMO.
