- The topic of sequenceable and R-sequenceable groups has generated, and continues to generate, a considerable amount of research. This chapter considers only finite groups so that all of the comments refer to finite groups. Most of the investigation has been directed towards sequenceable rather than R-sequenceable. In this regard, abelian groups have the easily shown feature that an abelian group cannot be simultaneously sequenceable and R-sequenceable. A convenient way to think about sequenceable and R-sequenceable groups, which then points the way to an obvious generalization, involves Cayley digraphs. The other direction has involved considerations of the connection set. These considerations have two aspects. One aspect is connection sets whose cardinalities are close to the order of the group. The other aspect in dealing with the connection sets is when the cardinality is not too big.
